Great spots to take photos in Canada

If you are planning to visit Canada on a vacation and would like to explore new places, check out some of the exquisite spots we've discovered from some of the famous photographers and travelers around the world. This cool list of 10 awe-inspiring Instagram-worthy locations in Canada will also make you want to snap great photos with your phone instantly.

The Purcell Mountains

This thrilling photo by Vancouver based-photographer Taylor Burk will make you want to jump on a plane and visit The Purcell Mountains in British Columbia right now. The Purcells are situated in the southeastern part of the province, between the Rocky Mountain Trench to the east, Kootenay Lake to the west and the Trans-Canada Highway to the north and extend beyond the Canada–U.S. border to the south.

Montreal Biosphère

A must-see in Montreal, the Biosphere is a perfect place if you would like to gather a clearer understanding of major environment issues through their educational exhibitions and special events. Designed by renowned American architect Buckminster Fuller, this architectural gem can be found at Parc Jean-Drapeau, on Saint Helen's Island in the former pavilion of the United States for the 1967 World Fair, Expo 67. Check out Arnaud Jolois' photo of the Biosphere! C'est magnifique!

Rideau Canal

Another Instagram-worthy location is the Rideau Canal, also called as the Rideau Waterway. Deemed as one of the oldest landmarks in Ottawa, this canal, which was opened in 1832 is located under the Wellington bridge next to the Chateau Laurier. It connects the city of Ottawa, Ontario, on the Ottawa River to the city of Kingston, Ontario, on Lake Ontario. Operated by Parks Canada, this canal is normally filled with boats during the summer. Props to Roland Bast, who is a proud Ottawa Tourism Ambassador, for this enchanting shot!

Yellowknife

You gotta admire this spectacular Yellowknife shot of ace photographer Emanuel Smedbøl. He captioned this image: "Just you, your puppers, and a boat (and like a million miles of wild northern shoreline)." It's lovely, isn't it? Situated on the northern shore of Great Slave Lake, just 400 km (250 mi) south of the Arctic Circle, Yellowknife is the capital and only city, as well as the largest community in the Northwest Territories (NT or NWT), Canada. Did you know that Yellowknife and its surrounding water bodies were named after a local Dene tribe once known as the 'Copper Indians' or 'Yellowknife Indians'?

Moraine Lake, Banff National Park

Meanwhile, this amazing photo by Hannah Keiver will make you want to discover Banff - a beauty that you've never seen before. Just a 20-minute drive outside the Village of Lake Louise in Alberta via a reliable car rental, Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park and can be found in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However when it is full, it flashes an extraordinary shade of blue probably because of the refraction of light.

Riding Mountain National Park

You may want to take in the view of the Riding Mountain National Park, which is just 100 km north of Brandon via rental car. Known as a national park in Manitoba, this lovely Instagram-worthy place is enveloped by a sea of farmland, with 3000 km2 of rugged nature just waiting to be admired. Just sitting alone by the lake and enjoying peaceful moment of sunset can easily make you forget the world. Kudos to Austin Mackay for capturing this magical moment. Total bliss!

Athabasca Falls

Beautiful, breathtaking, magical and picturesque are some of best words you can use to describe Athabasca Falls, which is located in Jasper National Park on the upper Athabasca River, just 30 km south of the townsite of Jasper in Alberta and just west of the Icefields Parkway. Here. it's picture perfect for nature lover and city dweller Davey Gravy.

Seton Lake

Seton Lake is about 320 km northeast of Vancouver, or nearly five hours of driving via rental car. Photographer Brandon Born wrote on his IG that this photo was one of his favorites. "Looking over Seton Lake. It's crazy to realize how many people drive by this location without even knowing what lies just a couple hundred meters away, one of my favorite views." We say your favorite views are our favorites too!

Nova Scotia

You'll never run out of things to do when you are in Nova Scotia. Their wonderful scenic routes, delightful dining destination, and fascinating getaways are just the beginning. Make sure to explore their world-famous lighthouses and pristine coastline, too. Sanjay Chauhan perfectly captured it! Just stunning!

Dinosaur Provincial Park

Situated in the valley of the Red Deer River, visiting Dinosaur Provincial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is like stepping into another world. About two-and-a-half hours drive southeast of Calgary in Alberta, or just a half-hour drive northeast of Brooks via rental car, this park is well known for being one of the richest dinosaur fossil locales in the world. Just imagine, 40 dinosaur species have been discovered here, while 500 specimens have been removed and exhibited in museums around the globe. Credit to Rebecca Simrose for this utterly amazing photo! Such a talent!
