When you pick up your rental car, you will be required to present a valid driver’s license. If you are not a Canadian resident, you will be required to present your passport as well. International customers must have a valid driver’s license and a credit card, otherwise they will not be permitted to rent a car. At the time of rental, drivers must present a major credit card.

It is important also important to note than cash is rarely accepted by car rental companies. Keep in mind that an international driver’s license is only valid if presented with an original driver's license, so make sure you bring both when collecting your car.

  • valid driver's licence

  • passport (for non-residents)

  • credit card (in the same name as the renter)

  • International Driving Permit (if your license is not in English).

Always make sure to check the Terms and Conditions to ensure that you can see an up to date and specific list of required documents that the car rental company needs you to provide.
