Best time to visit St. John's

Weather-wise, this city delights in the third mildest winter in Canada, as well as satisfying cool-to-warm summers. From April to May, that's when the snow disappears and the sun is warmer. If you enjoy swimming and sunny weather, the best month to visit is during June. July and August is also ideal as you can still enjoy other summer activities without the humidity. From January to March, that's when it is generally cold with regular snow.

Winterholme

St. Johns Geo Centre

St. Johns Geo Centre is a science centre unlike any other in Canada. It focuses on the geology of Newfoundland and Labrador and it tells the amazing story of Earth, going back almost to the planet's birth, more than 4.6 billion years ago. The centre is divided into several departments, such as the ExxonMobil Oil& Gas Gallery, the Titanic Story, the KIDZone, the Geo Park and of course a coffee shop.

Cabot Tower

Cabot Tower offers a wonderful view of St. Johns and the surrounding area. The building is a tower built at the highest point of Signal Hill, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's discovery of Newfoundland and Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.
