Best time to visit Canmore

Driving tips in Canmore

Canmore is located just over an hour west of Calgary along AB-1. The town is about 30 minutes from the popular Rocky Mountains town of Banff. Head north-west along AB-1 from Canmore to explore the stunning scenery of the Rocky Mountains.

Highways are well maintained in the Rocky Mountains, but still take caution during winter when snow and ice may be present on the roads. Certain roads and some attractions in the region may not be open over this period.
